2016 USA presidential elections - Part 2 - Charts of relatives

In Part 1 of this series of articles, I discussed Hillary’s birth time and why the evening time seems to suit better the major events in her life. In a later article, I will discuss her chances with both times, the morning and evening one. However, the lack of an accurate birth time compels us to look for different ways to predict the outcome. One of these ways is to examine the charts of close relatives of both candidates. If a husband or a wife or a father is going to become president, then this must be shown in their charts as well, mustn’t it?

Sadly, we don’t have a birth time for Melania Trump, so I’ll examine the charts of Trump’s two youngest children, William Barron and Tiffany. As for Hillary, the obvious choices are the charts of Bill and Chelsea. No birth time is from a birth certificate, however they are apparently more or less accurate.

Let’s start with the chart of Tiffany Trump.

The significators of the father in this chart are: Mars (domicile ruler of the 4th house), the Sun (almuten of the 4th house and natural significator of fathers in diurnal charts) and Venus (ruler of the Lot of Father). Mars is in a very good state in Scorpio and in the fortunate 11th house, the Sun may be in fall, but he is angular, received by Saturn in Aquarius with a nice trine and conjunct Jupiter, a Fortune and Venus is cadent and in fall, but in her own triplicity and in mutual reception with Mercury and Mars. Overall, this paints a very positive picture of Donald Trump. You could make an argument about his personality based on the fact that he is being represented by two planets in fall and an Infortune, but he is very strong nonetheless.

A most interesting thing about to happen in her chart is the MC/Mars conjuction in progressions and directions. This would have been perfect for Trump, but this conjunction will take place in 2018 and for it to happen around election time, the time of birth needs to be 5-6 minutes later. It’s not impossible, but let’s look for other indications.

She also has a Sun/Moon conjunction in primary directions. The Sun is her father, OK, but the Moon doesn’t seem to relate to her father’s success, unless we view this as an important event in general, being a conjunction of the Lights. Finally, there is a Jupiter/Venus conjunction also in primary directions in early 2017 and a progressed Asc square natal Jupiter. Not bad, given the fact that starting from September, she is going to have a Jupiter return (like her dad), who is also going to conjunct natal MC and the Sun.

Overall, I would have preferred the MC/Mars conjunction as this is a very clear testimony of her father’s success. If her birth time is slightly incorrect, then yes, but as it stands, the testimonies are not paricularly impressive. So, let’s move to Barron.

In young Barron’s chart, the significators of the father are: Mercury, domicile ruler and almuten of the 4th house, Mars, conjunct the 4th house cusp and ruler of the Lot of Father and Saturn, natural ruler of fathers in nocturnal charts. At first glance, we notice two things: Donald Trump is again portrayed by planets in debility (Saturn retrograde and in detriment and Mercury, retrograde and in both detriment and fall) and that Mars again signifies the father in Barron’s chart as in Tiffany’s, in line, therefore, with Donald’s chart with Mars on the ascendant. There is something “martial” about Donald Trump and these two kids have experienced it.

The state of the father’s significators seems to be worse in this chart, but again they receive help. Mercury and Mars are in mutual reception, Venus receives Mars in her terms and aspects him with a trine and Mercury and Jupiter are also in mutual rception with a trine. Saturn is in his own face and in mutual reception with the Sun (no aspect), but this is not much help. Perhaps, this is an indication that the father is “old” (Donald was 60 years old when Barron was born). Anyway, Donald seems to be a very important factor in young Barron’s life (Mercury conjunct the ascendant) and he will “shape” him for better or worse.

Anything important happening in Barron’s chart around election time? Yes. Secondary progressed Mars will be exactly conjunct natal IC on election day, so whatever this indicated in his natal chart, it is time to become evident. Could that be a Trump win? It’s not one of those fortunate testimonies you would expect, but since Mars is a significator of his father and he becomes powerful on this crucial moment, this could indicate a win. Or could this indicate a loss that would “wound” his father? Mars is an Infortune, but the chart is nocturnal and he is received well. His SR ascendant this year is conjunct Regulus, which also plays an important role in Donald’s chart. On the other hand, his SR chart is full of hard aspects (particularly the Mars/Saturn conjunction with Mars being the father) and, of course, Saturn in Sagittarius is already a problem for all these planets in mutable signs (although Jupiter in Libra will help a lot).However, the lunar return chart is quite good.

Let’s move to Bill and Chelsea.

Hillary’s significators in Bill’s chart: Mars, domicile ruler of the 7th house and the Sun, almuten of the 7th house.

The solar return is impressive. Hillary is again in the 1st house, received by the 1st house ruler, Mercury, exactly like the nativity. Mercury is also the 10th house ruler, but that is his success, not Hillary’s, although, of course, he will return to the White House himself, should she win.The only problem is the angular Mars/Saturn conjunction in the 4th house, the turned 10th, which also squares by sign the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction. Could that be a problem? Possibly. The lunar return chart for November is also quite good (for him mainly). In secondary progressions and primary directions, there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly interesting. What is worthy of note however, is that there is going to be a Sun/Saturn square in early 2018 and that’s going to be a problem for Hillary (Sun = Hillary). Is there any truth in the rumours about her health?

Significators of Hillary in Chelsea’s chart: The Sun and the Moon (natural ruler of mothers in nocturnal charts, ruler of the Lot of the Mother and also in the 10th sign from the ascendant).

The solar return chart is not impressive, but the lunar return chart is quite good, with the Moon again in the 10th house with the Lot of Fortune there and the10th house ruler (the Sun) in the 1st sign. Again, the progressions and directions show nothing important, in fact there is a negative opposition between the Moon and Mercury this couple of years, which echoes the Sun/Saturn square in Bill’s chart. Hmm...

So? Again, very difficult to choose. The return charts favour Hillary and the progressions and directions favour Trump. On to the next part of this series of articles.

2016 USA presidential elections - Part 1 - Hillary's birth time

Predicting the outcome of an election from the natal charts of the candidates is difficult enough as it is. It becomes almost impossible when you don’t have an accurate birth time, which is the case for Hillary. However, it seems that Hillary was either born around 8am or around 8pm. There are other times proposed, particularly by astrologers who have rectified her chart. Astrodatabank seems to prefer the morning time. In this first article about the elections, I will make an attempt to choose between the two most likely birth times. Since I do not know Hillary personally and I know nothing about her character or her private life, I will restrict myself to a few major public events to base my judgement.

Morning chart

Evening chart

a) Eminent husband: Hillary’s husband, Bill Clinton, was twice elected as President of the United States. This must be shown somehow in Hillary’s nativity. The evening chart has Sagittarius in the 7th house, with Jupiter also in Sagittarius, the sign he rules. You can’t get more eminent than that. Jupiter is also the ruler of the 10th house, therefore connecting Hillary’s success with her husband. In the morning chart, Venus, who rules the 7th house, is in detriment in Scorpio making squares with both the Infortunes. Somehow, this configuration doesn’t seem to describe Bill Clinton accurately. Evening chart wins.

b) Date of marriage (11 October 1975): The primarily directed ascendant in the evening chart was exactly opposite this wonderful Jupiter at the time of their marriage, therefore putting him exactly on the 7th house cusp, which is the strongest testimony possible for a marriage. Her secondary progressed Sun was also conjunct natal Jupiter. Finally, the solar return for that year has Sagittarius on the ascendant, the degree of which is exactly conjunct natal Jupiter! Amazing. However, the trine between Mars (Hillary) and Venus (Bill) in the primary directions of the morning chart can’t be ignored and the same goes for the solar return chart with Saturn (the SR 7th house ruler) in the ascendant. Although Saturn implies a not very happy year for Hillary, nevertheless, it’s an astrologically valid testimony for marriage. I still think that the evening chart is better, but let’s put the marriage aside for the moment.

c) Birth of daughter (27 February 1980): In the primary directions of the evening chart, we have a trine (with latitude) between Mercury (Hillary) and Saturn (co - almuten of the 5th house = children). In the secondary progressions, Mercury (Hillary) makes a partile conjunction with natal Venus (domicile ruler of the 5th house). The solar return chart of the year she became pregnant (1978-1979) has Mars in Scorpio, ruler of the 5th house, conjunct the ascendant! In the primary directions of the morning chart, we have a trine between Mars and Venus, significators of both Hillary and the child. The solar return for the year 1979-1980 has again Saturn in the ascendant, with Saturn being the 5th house ruler. We notice the same pattern with the marriage, both events indicated by Saturn in the 1st in the solar return charts. If the morning time is correct, then both marriage and child were kind of a burden for Hillary. I don’t know if there is any truth in that.

I think the evening chart is clearer, but, again, let’s not rush into judgement.

d) 1992 elections:In the evening chart, the secondary progressed Moon (light of sect) was conjunct Jupiter (Bill/success) around that time. In the solar return chart, the Moon, (almuten of the ascendant) is in the 7th sign from the ascendant (husband) and in strong mutual reception with the 7th house ruler, Mars. Mars is also the almuten of the 10th house and so the natal pattern which connects the 7h and the 10th houses was repeated that year. The lunar return chart also repeats the same pattern. Angular Mars is almuten of the 10th house (success) and co-almuten of the 7th (Bill) and is conjunct the ascendant (Hillary).In the primary directions we have a sextile between Mercury (Hillary) and Jupiter (husband/success).

Morning chart: We have a Sun sextile Venus (Bill) in the primary directions, the solar return is quite impressive (10th house ruler in the ascendant and 7th house ruler in the 10th) and the lunar return chart is not so impressive with a square between the Sun and Saturn in domicile in the 7th and 10th houses.

Difficult to choose, but I would again pick the evening chart, because of the repetition of the natal pattern.

e) Lewinski scandal: Bill made the announcement on August 17th, 1998.

Evening chart: Secondary progressed Mars exactly conjuct the IC. Secondary progressed Sun opposite secondary progressed Uranus. The two planets of rupture, therefore, were activated. In the primary directions we have an activation of Neptune with Mercury (Hillary) square Neptune and Saturn square Neptune. If we want to go modern with this, Hillary belongs to the Neptune in Libra generation, for whom God or redemption can be found in relationships (although Hillary is not a true child of that generation, with Uranus on the ascendant and all those Scorpio planets). When Neptune is hit hard, illusions about such a thing as a perfect relationship are dispersed. We also have directed Pluto on the ascendant, which implies “death and regeneration”.The solar return chart is impressive, with Uranus (again) exactly conjunct the 7th house cusp and Saturn retrograde and in fall is conjunct the MC!. Her publilc image was seriously damaged and by whom? Her husband (Saturn rules the 7th house). They did not break up as Jupiter, a Fortune, is also in the 7th house in mutual reception with Saturn and there are trines between this Saturn and Mars abd Venus in the 5th house.The lunar return chart is also impressive, with Saturn (10th house ruler = exposure) on the ascendant and Mars (again!) angular and in fall ruling the 7th house and co-almuten of the 10th house, repeating the natal pattern.

Morning chart: There are quite a few hard aspects between the Moon and Mars and the outer planets, which could explain the situation. The secondary progressions offer nothing extra with the change of birth time and the return charts are less impressive (although there are some indications) than the ones with the evening time.

The evening time, I think, wins again.

f) Death of mother: This occurred on 1 November 2011.

Evening chart: Taking latitude into account, we have an Asc/Saturn conjunction in the secondary progressions and primary directions, Very important. Saturn (especially in Hillary’s chart, because he is in detriment) is a natural indicator of misfortune, but in Hillary’s chart he rules death and is one the mother’s rulers (being the ruler of the Lot of Mother). The solar return chart has Mercury ruling both mother and death (10th and 8th houses) conjunct the ascendant. Venus, natal almuten of the mother, is also conjunct the ascendant of the solar return chart and makes a partile square with Mars, ruler of the turned 8th house in the solar return chart. The Venus/Mars square in the solar return chart also activates natal Saturn (Mars makes a partile conjunction with Saturn and Venus a partile square).

Morning chart: With the Asc/Saturn conjunction out of the way, there doesn’t seem to be anything worth of note in the secondary progressions. In the primary directions, we have a Sun/Saturn conjunction, which is important, although it’s not directly linked to her mother (unless one uses the whole sign house system, where the Sun is the ruler of the 10th house). The solar return chart has the Moon (mother in nocturnal charts) conjunct Saturn (8th house ruler).

Again, a not so easy choice to make, but I would side again with the evening chart because of the very clear Asc/Saturn conjunction, which is more personal than a Sun/Saturn conjunction.

Finally, the Asc/Saturn conjunction in the evening chart was still active (without latitude this time) a year later when she was treated for a blood clot, following a concussion she had sustained earlier (ascendant = body, Saturn = coagulation).

Conclusion: Between these two birth times, I think the evening time makes a much clearer presentation of the major events in her life. The morning time is not bad, but less clear, in my opinion.

Update (3 October 2016): Another birth time has resurfaced, that of  2:18 am, which is apparently confirmed, but not very convincingly. Anyway, this is probably the worst time for Hillary. I haven't examined it thoroughly, but the mere fact that her ascendant and 10th house ruler, Mercury, is retrograde, conjunct the South Node and forms a partile square with Saturn in detriment. looks very bad for Hillary.

Madonna and Rocco

Madonna's son has been in the news recently because he went to the UK to be with his dad but never returned home to his mother and now Madonna and Guy Ritchie are likely to be involved in a messy legal custody battle.

Apparently, Madonna is kind of a strict parent and Rocco feels oppressed by her and now that he is in his rebellious teenage years, he wants to move in with his dad. What does his natal chart say? (with an A Rodden rating). Is Madonna a strict parent (from the point of view of Rocco)?

Well, she kind of is :) Saturn, the 10th house ruler, is very close to ascendant. Gemini is not a bad sign for Saturn and had this been a daytime chart, this would have indicated an occasionally overbearing mother perhaps, but hardly oppressive. This is a night chart, however, and Saturn is the Infortune out of sect, which makes things worse. Jupiter on the ascendant is not going to aggravate things (a Fortune in mutual reception with the ruler of the ascendant), but he is in detriment and he won't be able to offer significant help.

Furthermore, the Moon, natural significator of mothers in nocturmal charts, is in detriment in Carpicorn, again repeating the saturnian theme regarding the mother. The Moon is also in the 8th house ("fear and anguish of mind" according to Lilly) and it seems that Madonna is a cause of anxiety for Rocco. Madonna seems a fairly liberal person to us all, but Rocco apparently disagrees.

Now look at the father. The father is Sun in Leo, wow! The father is a king, who has his own set of rules and doesn't care about what society thinks of him. So there's a great difference here. For Rocco, Madonna is the parent who is trying to shape hin into becoming the person SHE thinks he should be, whereas Guy is the parent that allows Rocco to be whoever he wants to be.

The Lots have the same rulers as well. The Lot of Father is in Leo and the Lot of Mother's in Aquarius. No change.

So, we have two very different images of the two parents. Where does Rocco stand in the middle of this? He is Mercury in Leo, so the father image seems much more appealing. He is also conjunct Mars, the other planet of the "self". No, Rocco doesn't like Saturn, he doesn't like other people's rules and being told what to do, but this is his chart, his Moon (light of sect), his Saturn conjunct the ascendant, so he'll always be and people will always treat him as Madonna's son. Whoever he ends up living with, is irrelevant. He'll never be as "free" as he would like to be. Which isn't so bad really, at least in his case. This Mercury/Mars conjunction can lead him into trouble, if left completely uncontrolled. Madonna has a point, indeed. She just needs to go easy on the Saturn and get a better grasp of what her son is going through. She is a Leo Sun herself, after all.

David Bowie's illness

This is David Bowie's natal chart (A rating).

This is the SR chart of the year that David Bowie was diagnosed with liver cancer,

First of all, let's have a look at the natal chart. Do we have any reasons to worry about health? Yes.

1) Both Lights (vitality) are weak. The Sun is in the 12th house. There is a mutual reception with Saturn, but it is doubtful that it will help much. Saturn is in a very poor condition and there is no aspect between the two. The Moon is afflicted by the close conjunction with Saturn.

2) The Moon is also the 6th house ruler and she is angular, so illness is prominent.The Moon is also the lord of the Lot of Sickness. Bad news.

3) Saturn, the ascendant ruler (body) is an Infortune retrograde and in detriment.

4) Jupiter, natural ruler of liver, is not bad, but the 5th house ruler (liver), Mercury, is in the weak 12th house applying to combustion.

The Solar return chart:

1) David's natal 6th house (illness) is in Cancer. Cancer is the SR ascending sign, which is one testimony that perhaps health issues may be prominent that year,

2) The SR 6th house ruler (illness) is in the SR 1st house (body). Another clear and unfortunate testimony.

3) Jupiter is exalted, but he is retrograde, squares Mars in detriment, opposes the Sun and squares the Moon (natal 6th house ruler). A very nasty T-cross.

4) The SR 5th house (liver) is afflicted by both the Infortunes in a bad state. The mutual reception is without an aspect.

5) SR Saturn is closely conjunct natal Jupiter (liver).

So, would an astrologer warn him about a health danger? Yes, the very clear involvement of the 6th house deserves a mention at least.

Interestingly, if his birth time is correct, the directed ascendant had just entered (2016) the terms (eguptian) of Mercury, the natal 5th house ruler (liver).
